In August 2021, Dylan was deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan, where he served at the Abbey Gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport. His mission was to protect and assist those seeking to flee the country during the U.S. withdrawal. On August 26, while helping a child to safety, Dylan’s life was tragically cut short by a bomb explosion. He had been in Kabul for less than two weeks and had plans to attend college to study engineering.
